Beelzebub

Yolda (ヨルダ)

Yolda (ヨルダ, Yoruda) bears a strong resemblance to Hilda and carries a mop with her, which she uses as a weapon much as Hilda uses her parasol. The two seem to have an unsettled score and Yolda positively despises Hilda. She is also able to move very quickly and knocks Furuichi and Kunieda out easily. In contrast to Hilda, she has a femme fatale attitude. It is later revealed that she is a dimensional transfer demon like Alaindelon; her powers are said to be even greater than his, and she is able to distort dimensions and create sections of space detached from the physical world. It is later revealed that she is Hilda's sister.
Yolda strongly resembles her sister, Hilda, the only difference is a slight change in costume and keeps her bangs out of her eyes and her hair loose rather then tied. Yolda also carries a mop, while Hilda carries a parasol.
Regardless of what she is saying she will commonly speak in a cheerful and playful manner, even if she is issuing death threats or insults. She also seems to be flirtatious, as she attempted to kiss Oga upon first meeting him.

Beelzebub

Izabella (イザベラ)

Izabella (イザベラ, Izabera) leads En's three nurses and has a cold, serious attitude.
She has a cerulean blue shoulder-length hair and has blue eyes. She wears glasses and carries a book of incantations that she uses to cater for Lord En's needs and whims.
Izabella can casts spells and can paralize someone's body by simply touching their heart.

Beelzebub

Sachura (サテュラ)

Sachura is one of En's three Maid Demons, often seen serving En Calpis soda on ice. She wears her long red hair in two braids and appears to be the youngest of the nurses.

Beelzebub

Lamia (ラミア)

Lamia is a demon doctor who is very small. Her name is possibly an allusion to the mythological demon. Later in the series, she seeks Furuichi's help to find Lord En on Hilda's request. Furuichi suspects her of being a tsundere character. Lamia carries a pistol loaded with bullets containing demonic concoctions that can erase memories, force a person to do one's bidding or, in the case of Oga, trap him in a psychic loop. She is always accompanied by two small muumuu pets, one of which sits atop her head and often mimics her mood. Her age is unspecified, but her appearance is that of a pre-teen girl. Her mother is general Laymia of the 34th Pillar Squad.

Beelzebub

Aoi Kunieda (邦枝葵)

First appearance: Chapter 10
Age: 17
Height: 165cm
Birthday: May 15

Aoi is 17 years old, a second-year student and the third leader of the "strongest ladies of Kantou", the Red Tails. She is first introduced in disguise at the park taking care of her baby brother, Kouta, who is constantly mistaken as being Aoi's own child by the mothers at the park. She is the daughter of a local temple keeper. Her nickname is Queen because she is the protector of all the girls at Ishiyama High from the men's "grubby hands". Because of Oga's dense personality, he has yet to realize that the girl he befriended at the park and Kunieda are one and the same. Despite her tough personality, she has a rather girlish crush on Oga but refuses to admit this fact to others. She can feel Saotome using his demon power, which shows she has notable strength for a human.

Kunieda differs from the other thugs at Ishiyama in that she has formal martial arts training from her grandfather, the master of the shingetsu style. She is also not a bully, and steers the leadership of the Red Tails towards preventing unnecessary fights in the school. This is what puts her first in collision course with Oga, as the latter is deemed by her to be responsible for most of recent violent events in the school. They have two exchanges: in neither does Oga return her attacks, limiting himself to evade them, first to let baby Beel assess her strength and thus find out whether she is a potential replacement for him; later, because a failure in communication leads Oga to believe that Kunieda's condition to take Beel is that he should resist her charges. She is greatly impressed by Oga's speed and power, and misunderstands his advances on her (to get rid of Beel) as romantic interest. After he saves her from a plot by the MK5, she decides to leave the Red Tails and become a more disciplined person, and at the same time her crush on Oga increases. Later, she and the Red Tails intervene to stop the whole male student body of Ishiyama from attacking Oga, allowing him to proceed to a confrontation with Toujou unhindered.

She at first harboured some jealousy against Hilda, seeing her as a potential rival for Oga, but on discovering the truth about her and Baby Beel's true nature, their animosity becomes less pronounced. Later, it is Hilda who becomes jealous of Beel's attachment to Kunieda.

She is a skilled swordswoman and martial artist, and possesses an immense amount of vitality and stamina, as well as impressive speed that is above Sakaki Mitsuteru's, who is known to be able to wield his sword at 250 km/h (however, she is not fast enough to hit Oga, who manages to evade even her best attacks with minor injuries). She can use any weapon she chooses in battle, and has even been shown to fight with nothing more than a ruler. She has shown the ability to assess opponents' strengths and weaknesses very quickly. Despite all this however, Hilda has noted that Kunieda is still below Oga's level in terms of battle capabilities.

Beelzebub

Takayuki Furuichi  (古市貴之)

Birthday: November 11
Age: 16
Height: 175 cm (5'9")
Likes: Cute women, beautiful women, simply women.
Dislikes: Long stories

Takayuki Furuichi is one of the main protagonists of Beelzebub.

Furuichi is Oga's best friend and along with him is a 1st year at Ishiyama High. After finding out about Oga's baby he joins him up in his search for a new parent. He is actually the most normal person in the anime/manga because he tries to add common sense to everything. He also has no powers.

Furuichi has silver/white hair and he is usually seen wearing the highschool uniform. He often retains a calm face but when Oga or other characters do something outrageous he turns insane in a comical fashion.

Although Furuichi does retain a rational, passive and calm demeanor, he usually reacts in an insane (yet comical) fashion whenever a character does something outrageous. He also has a wild imagination when it comes to women, always fantasying about them in a overly perverted manner. And despite his desire to hit it off with the ladies, he often fails to please them or get their attention because most of them, demon or human, are stronger than him and many moments of comic relief in the series arise when his advances on girls get frustrated, particularly by Alaindelon. He especially envies Oga for being the object of Kunieda's love and for living with Hilda under the same roof.

Beelzebub

Hildegard (ヒルデガルダ)

Race: Demon (Maid)
Age: under 18
Gender: Female
Height: 162cm
Eyes: Green
Hair: Blond

Hilda is an attractive young woman with blonde hair that covers one side of her face and is tied in a bun, green eyes and a well endowed chest. Her clothes are mostly elegant and black with frills and white quillings, thus resembling Lolita Fashion. She is seen wearing other outfits on a few occasions. One occasion being right after she wakes up, where she was wearing a modest pink night gown with her hair down.

When she infiltrates Oga's current school she dresses in the Saint Ishiyama High uniform, though she complains that the shirt is "a little tight."

Hilda commonly displays a cold and impassive demeanor, a character trait that she breaks only on rare occasions. (excluding her interactions with Be'el). Toward Be'el she is very affectionate and protective, acting as the role of the mother and preforming the task a mother would such as cooking for and washing Be'el. She often knows more about the current situation than any of the other protagonists and is easily able to manipulate the others into doing what she sees best. Hilda also has a fondness for extremely spicy foods, such as super spicy habenero buns.

She is shown to be just as bloodthirsty and violent as Oga, a trait that earned her the nickname "Oga's Bride" at Ishiyama. In a fight she displays a complete confidence in her own skill and power, regarding her opponents calmly and often taunting them in mid battle.

She enjoys teasing and tormenting Oga, frequently making marks about his intelligence and (in her own mind) poor parenting skills. In the beginning of the series she is openly dissaproving of Oga as Be'el's parent but after the delinquent defeats Toujou she becomes much more accepting and warmer towards him, even thanking him after. But she still bickers with him.

In Chapter 104, it is hinted that her time with Oga and Baby Beel has changed her, as Izabella noted that her personality has changed since coming to human world and wonders what kind of human is responsible for this change.

Hilda originally came to the human world by command of the Demon King to raise his son, Kaiser de Emperana Beelzebub IV, to be a 'good' human destroyer. Beelzebub however got so attached to Oga Tatsumi, that she now observes him and his progress in being the future demon king's parent.

Despite the fact that she is naturally just as fast as strong she is as a demon, Hilda rides a giant bird-like being named Ak-Baba. Although she has not been shown riding it lately.

Beelzebub

Tatsumi Oga (男鹿辰巳)

Birthday: August 31
Sign: Virgo
Race: Human
Age: 16
Gender: Male
Height: 179 cm (5'11")
Eyes: Black
Hair: Brown
Likes: Korokke, Dogeza
Dislikes: Long stories
Affiliation: None
Occupation: Delinquent high school student

Oga is easily agitated and is always willing to fight, unless it will bring out the Zebub spell. He appears to have his own skewed idea of what a 'man' should be like, and attempts to pass on these ideals to Be'el. Despite being called evil by almost every character of the series, he has shown to have a calmer and, if only slighlty, warmer side to him, shown when he speaks with Hilda about his position as Be'el parent and assuring Lamia that if Be'el ever got sick again he would call her immediately. He also seems to care, at least to some degree, about his classmates, as he quickly stopped Nene when she was about to fight Mikki, telling her she would lose if she did. He and Mikki seem to have some type of history together, yet Oga claims not to remember his old classmate. It is unknown if this is the truth as Mikki does not act suprised at Oga's statement. Oga, along with Furuichi, is an avid fan of the video game series "Dragon Quest" regularly making references to the series in the manga.

Beelzebub

Kaiser De Emperana Beelzebub IV (カイゼル・デ・エンペラーナ・ベルゼバブ4世)

Beelzebub IV (ベルゼバブ4世, Beruzebabu Yonsei) is an infant demon lord, and the son of the Great Demon Lord.
His full name is Kaiser de Emperana Beelzebub IV (カイゼル•デ・エンペラーナ•ベルゼバブ4世, Kaizaru de Enperāna Beruzebabu Yonsei).
This is sometimes further abbreviated to:
  • Beelze-sama (Lord Beelze) is a term used by Alaindelon.
  • Baby Beel (ベル坊, Berubō). The suffix "-bo" indicates a baby. The "Beel" syllable is pronounced with a short 'e', not a long 'e' as English readers may infer from the double vowel.
Beelzebub is a baby with an abnormally wide build and green hair. Beel is almost always shown with his binky, save when he is being fed. Usually, he is seen nude (even in public), causing ordinary people to talk about him and his "parent" Tatsumi Oga. Partially due to Hilda's misdirection, the rest of the Oga's family believes that Beelzebub is Tatsumi's biological son, using their similar eyes (usually frozen in either a blank stare or an intimidating glare)
Baby Be'el is very easily impressed, especially by strong people since he himself is still weak and loses to other babies as well as to cats. On the other hand he is not the smartest one out there and tries to force his way through the most simple problems. It is also shown that he is afraid of insects. He often displays a fondness

HelloImMeXDAdded by HelloImMeXD
for things that might frighten "normal" babies, such as violence, exposed muscle tissue (on an anatomy model), heavy metal music, and demonic toys.At the start of the series, Baby Be'el used to be a crybaby who used to cry and shock Oga all the time, but as the series goes on he gradually becomes braver to a point where he is now rarely seen crying at all. This is due to Oga's continuous teachings about what it is to be a man and a Demon Lord.

Baka & Test : Summon The Beast Class A

Shouko Kirishima (霧島翔子)

Birthdate: November 11th, 1993
Zodiac sign: Scorpio

Shouko Kirishima is the childhood friend of Yuuji Sakamoto. She is the top student in her level and the class representative for class A. In the story, she is portrayed as a soft-spoken, but highly assertive and intelligent girl. In the novel, her dialog always starts with ellipses. She is described as elegantly beautiful and very popular like a typical Yamato Nadeshiko, but yet has no boyfriend, which initially created the impression to others that she is a lesbian. Later, it was revealed that the reason for this is because she is crazily infatuated with Yuuji since childhood and acts possessively towards him, to the point of frequently poking out his eyes in order to prevent him from seeing other girls' underwear, applying locks and chains while they are together, using a hand-held taser if he is being 'unfaithful' to her, and even attempted to submit a marriage certificate to the civil registrar (but fails in the anime due to them being underage). Despite being tricked multiple times, she still shows a trusting nature towards Yuuji and practically believes everything he says. Shouko is also shown to be someone who is a very long-term thinker, and has already decided on her children's names (Shoyu for a girl, and Kosho for a boy). She is also "hopeless when it comes to gadgets" (機械音痴) and is known to ruin any electronic gadget that falls into her hands, although in the novels she brings one that contains Yuuji's supposed voice proposing to her and claims its 'normal music'. While she is a part of class A, Shouko often hangs around Akihisa's inner circle of class F only because she wants to be around Yuuji. Her Shoukanju is clad in Samurai armor and wields a Japanese longsword. During the ESB field error, her Shoukanju also becomes an adult version of herself wearing only an apron and lingerie.

Baka & Test : Summon The Beast

Yuuko Kinoshita (木下優子)

Yuuko Kinoshita (木下 優子 Kinoshita Yūko) is a recurring character in the Baka to Test to Shoukanjuu series. She is Class 2-A's Ambassador in Fumizuki Academy, one of the Top 10 students of her year, and the older twin sister of Hideyoshi Kinoshita (by three minutes). In the original Japanese series, Hideyoshi calls Yūko "Aneue" meaning "older sister".
Due to the difference in their academic abilities with her brother, she feels superior to him, whom she thinks is trash. Yūko is very prideful, arrogant and easily agitated, unlike Hideyoshi who is always calm. She also acts like this since she is beautiful, smarter than her brother by so many levels,a decent cook and very athletic and she is a huge green-eyed monster since her brother attracts more guys then she does (Weird enough.). She also has big issues and goes berserk when it comes to her weight. This was easily shown when Hideyoshi pointed out to her that her skirt was a bit loose for him. True enough, her skirt was a bit too loose on his waist.
She is also a Yaoi Fangirl and, if Hideyoshi was ever believed in the light novels, walks around at home wearing nothing but her panties. She also has a thing for girly guys like Akihisa (and oddly enough, her brother Hideyoshi). She also has the horrible habit of being a Moment Killer.
Yūko and Hideyoshi, despite being of different genders, are almost identical, the only noticeable difference between them being the way they style their hair, and voice. Class F use this to their advantage in Volume 1 (of the light novel series)/Episode 12 by having Hideyoshi masquerade as his sister and insult Class C and call them filthy pigs, provoking class C to challenge class A in a Mock Exam Summoning Battle. The proud Yūko bears a deep grudge against Hideyoshi and class F for the incident.
However, in the last episode of the anime's first season, it is shown that she can be honorable as well, refusing to acknowledge their victory against Class F due to the circumstances as it would be considered cowardly (she attacked Yuuji from behind after the rooftop at the old building collapses). In episode 12 of the anime, it is revealed her weakness is yaoi manga.
In episode 3 of season 2, is revealed that she can't sing (and has terrible acting skills; a suspicious Akihisa nearly figured her out), and so she switches places with Hideyoshi in order to avoid a promotional video. When she sees Hideyoshi singing, and hears Akihisa saying nice things about her (although he had no idea that they switched at the time), Yūko's opinion of them changes slighty, however, thanks to Hideyoshi's blunders, rumors have spread about her being a shotacon, homosexual, and doesn't normally wear panties. Likewise, (thanks to attacking Akihisa, letting him feel her breasts by accident) rumors have spread about Hideyoshi has started to grow breasts. Now, she seems to be on better terms with Hideyoshi, but it remains to be seen.
In the light novels she physically punishes Hideyoshi by bending his joints backwards if she catches him dressing as a girl. She also shows envy towards her brother because Hideyoshi is more popular (with boys) than herself. In the anime, she uses the "Fist" to punish Hideyoshi, or get him to do something. It is hinted that she, along with Shōko and Aiko are already in Akihisa's inner circle of friends in the school.

Her Shōkanjū wears heavy armor and wields a jousting lance.

Baka & Test : Summon The Beast

Aiko Kudou (工藤愛子)

Aiko Kudou (工藤 愛子 Kudō Aiko) is a supporting character in the Baka to Test to Shoukanjuu series. She is a student in Class 2-A in Fumizuki Academy, and is one of the Top 10 students in her year.
She is portrayed as a green-haired, friendly, easy-going, and mischievous girl. She uses 'boku' (僕?), the word for "I" commonly used by boys or young men, to address herself. She is extremely skilled in electronic gadgets and carries a micro-recorder for recording lessons, which she also uses to cause mischief to other people by recording, cutting and re-joining parts of their conversations, creating lots of misunderstandings and woes to others, especially towards Akihisa. She especially likes to mess around with Akihisa and Kōta, often stating perverted things to arouse them and causing them to nosebleed. It is highly implied that she likes Kōta especially in season 2.
Her Shōkanjū is clad in a schoolgirl sailor uniform and wields a battle axe. It carries an accessory that increases the electric strength of her axe. She states that she learns PD/H/PE "practically", unlike Kota who sits and takes notes. She is the only main female character who does not intentionally harm any male characters.

Baka & Test : Summon The Beast

Toshimitsu Kubo (久保利光)

Toshimitsu Kubo (久保 利光 Kubo Toshimitsu) is a supporting character in the Baka to Test to Shoukanjuu series. He is a student in Class 2-A in Fumizuki Academy, and is considered Number Two in his Year (though if Mizuki Himeji was in Class 2-A, he would rank third).
He lives in a relatively tight and structured schedule, which is reflected in his high grades. However, he easily misinterprets situations, and because of this, he thinks that Akihisa Yoshii was trying to hit on him. As a result, he ends up having a crush on Akihisa.
When it comes to Akihisa, he can be just as crazy as Himeji and Minami when Akihisa is implied to be involved with other women OR men.
He first appeared in episode 2 when fighting Himeji in an Exam Summoning Battle.
His Shōkanjū wears medieval-age armor and wields dual scythes.

Baka & Test : Summon The Beast

Miho Satou (佐藤美穂)

Miho Satou (佐藤 美穂 Satō Miho) is a minor character in the Baka to Test to Shoukanjuu series. She is a student in Class 2-A in Fumizuki Academy, and is also one of the Top 10 students of her Year.
She is a typical representation of the model students of Class A. She first appeared in episode 2. She battled and defeated Akihisa Yoshii (the encounter when he says that he is actually left-handed). She reappeared in episode 12, fighting Hideyoshi Kinoshita and a small group of Class F students after she protected Toshimitsu Kubo in a Class F assault. She hasn't made any other appearances since then.
Her shoukanjuu wears a Indian-/Native American-style tribal outfit and wields a kusarigama (a dual scythe connected by a long chain).

Baka & Test : Summon The Beast Class B

Kyouji Nemoto (根本恭二)

The class representative of sophomore Class B. He's known in the school for having a bad reputation, as seen when he tricked few students of class F to get the mock test paper. It has also been proven when he destroyed the resources of Class F just to gain advantage but even though Class F were at a disadvantage they still defeated him. He also took Himeji's love letter for Yoshii Akihisa (Yoshii thought it was for Yuuji). The reason why he was defeated was because Tsuchiya Kouta managed to bring Nishimura-sensei with him and defeated him after Yoshii distracted him. In order not to exchange rooms, he was asked to change into a girl's uniform and to go declare a mock-ESB on Class A. He had a girlfriend, the class representative of Class C, Koyama Yuuka. But after Yuuka saw him in a girl's uniform, she broke up with him.

Baka & Test : Summon The Beast

   Mayumi Kikuiri

( 菊入 真由美 )

Mayumi Kikuiri (菊入 真由美 Kikuiri Mayumi) is a minor ccharacter in the Baka to Test to Shoukanjuu series. She is a student in Class 2-B in Fumizuki Academy and is good friends with her classmate Ritsuko Iwashita. During the Summoned Being Tournament, she and Ritsuko fight as a team against Akihisa Yoshii and Yuuji Sakamoto in the first round. Despite their combined 100-point lead, they are defeated. In the Matsuri OVA, her Shokanjuu has a squirrel-like tail, wears armor, and wields a mace.

Baka & Test : Summon The Beast

Iwashita Ritsuko (岩下律子)

Ritsuko Iwashita is a student in Class 2-B in Fumizuki Academy and is good friends with Mayumi Kikuiri.

In Volume 1 it seems she is strong at math, but was still quickly defeated by Mizuki Himeji. In Volume 2 and the Matsuri OVA, she and Mayumi fight Akihisa Yoshii and Yuuji Sakamoto because of technical difficulties during the Summoned Being Tournament, but even with a 116-point lead on Akihisa, she loses due to his Shoukanjuu's agility and his teamwork with Yuuji.

Her Summoned Being differs the most amongst the series' media. In the manga adaptation, it wears a black ninja uniform and wields a katana. In the anime adaptation, it wears Western-style armor and wields a sword. In Episode 2 of the Matsuri OVA, it has bunny ears, wears normal girls' clothing, and wields a giant hammer.

Baka & Test : Summon The Beast Class C

Yuuka Koyama (小山 友香)

Yuuka Koyama (小山 友香 Koyama Yūka) is a minor character in the Baka to Test to Shoukanjuu series. She is Class 2-C's Representative in Fumizuki Academy. In her debut appearance, she is revealed to be going out with Kyouji Nemoto, but when she sees him cross-dressing, she dumps him.
In Episode 2 of the Matsuri OVA, the two have once again teamed up, only for her to find out during the battle that Kyouji has a cross-dressing album in addition to his previous cross-dressing attempt, resulting in their breakup.
Her Shokanjuu wears a kimono and a skirt and wields a trident.

Baka & Test : Summon The Beast Class D

Genji Hiraga (平賀 源二 )

Genji Hiraga is class representative of class 2-D, the class of Miharu, better known as Minami's Yuri-Burdock. Genji proposes to not have the mistake of Hiromi Nakabayashi repeat and to not underestimate the students of class 2-F after they challenged his class. He believes he has anticipated accurately their tactics and has already identified a weak point: while the battle rages, he will have his students behind sneak into enemy lines and ambush the seemingly defenseless class president Yuuji with a direct attack, which according to his information, the very worst marks that 2-F has. However, Yuuji gives permission for Akihisa and Hideyoshi to launch a surprise attack on their classroom. Genji's Shoukanjuu is clad in a General uniform and wields a sword.

Baka & Test : Summon The Beast

Miharu Shimizu (清水美春)

Miharu Shimizu (清水 美春 Shimizu Miharu) is a supporting character in the Baka to Test to Shoukanjuu series. She is Class 2-D's Ambassador in Fumizuki Academy. She has great affection for Minami Shimada, who she calls "Onee-sama" (Sissy, or a varity of other nicknames in the English dub of the anime), so much that she actively tries to convince Minami to reciprocate her feelings and will hurt anyone that gets in her way or catches Minami's eye (namely, Akihisa Yoshii).
She is so serious about her goal that she would take remedial classes with her and still be happy being with her. One might even call her a stalker, as she claims to have operatives following Minami so that no one tries anything with her.

Baka & Test : Summon The Beast Class E

Hiromi Nakabayashi (中林 宏美)

The class representative for class 2-E. Her Shoukanjuu appeared as a baseball player. Has a too overconfident personality.

Baka & Test : Summon The Beast

Yoshiko Mikami (三上 美子)

Yoshiko Mikami (三上 美子 Mikami Yoshiko) is a minor character in the Baka to Test to Shoukanjuu series. She is Class 2-E's Ambassador in Fumizuki Academy. In the anime adaptation, her class and Class 2-F have the first Summoner Test War in their Year, and she is the first casualty, with her Summoned Being defeated by Minami Shimada's in a battle under Mathematics and her consequently taken to remedial classes by Souichi Nishimura.
Her Summoned Being wears a white wizard robe and sports a small clover hairpin, carries a pink bag with a sling over its right shoulder, and wields a large Spell book that can summon pink lasers and be used to smack other Beings.

Baka & Test : Summon The Beast Class F

Kouta Tsuchiya (土屋康太)

A professional voyeur and friend of Akihisa with a nickname awfully similar to "Mussolini."

Though is name is Kouta Tsuchiya, most of the cast casually refers to him as "Muttsurini" (roughly translates to "Morose Pervert"). He is a rather quiet fellow compared to the rest of the cast, but wherever there's a chance to catch a panty shot or a lewd picture of a female student, Kouta will be there with camera in hand to record it. He even makes some money on the side taking and selling photos of the school's female population, and sometimes even dresses in ninja outfits to do his work. He also has a habit of trying to record the bust sizes of all the girls who go to his school.

Kouta happens to be an expert when it comes to matters of health and physical education, so much so that he can even beat the class rep of Class B in a 1-on-1 battle when health is the subject. However, he has terrible scores in all other fields, and as such tested into Class F during his placement exam.

Akihisa is his friend and a longtime buyer of his pictures, especially ones that involve a scantily-clad Hideyoshi.

Baka & Test : Summon The Beast

Yuuji Sakamoto (坂本雄二)

The leader of Class F who schemes to take Class A's room, but his plans rarely work the way they should.

Yuuji Sakamoto is the class representative of class F. In the series, the class rep position is assigned to the smartest student of that class. He is cool, collected, and exhibit surprisingly high intelligence and foresight unexpected of a student from class F. In volume 1, his strategies and tactics had helped class F to attain victory after victory, until the duels with class A in which he overestimated his ability in elementary school level Japanese history. Yuuji was once known as a child prodigy in his childhood. The only reason why he ended up in class F was because he did not study at all and he holds the strong belief that grades are not everything. However, due to the consequences he 'suffered' from his defeat from Shōko Kirishima, his childhood friend and also the top student of his level, he became motivated to study again, and in the later volumes, his Shoukanjuu became reasonably strong in just a few months due to his test scores improving by leaps and bounds.

It is implied that he is actually smarter than his childhood friend, Shouko. After the tournament in volume 2, he acquired a platinum bracelet which allows him to control the size of the force field of his Shoukanjuu, allowing him to form a one-man army choke point since humans cannot pass through this force field.

He bears no ill intention towards Shouko, but due to her unyielding obsession with marrying him since their childhood days, he sees her as having a few loose screws in her mind, and fears to even think of his future if he does marry her. In the anime, its suggested that they act like a married couple though she tends to treat him as a slave. Yuuji is close to Akihisa to the point where they can actually communicate without any words. A gag in the series is that Yuuji will attempt to decipher a complicated expression on Akihisa and comment on a series of events that must have taken place. While he meant it as a joke, he is always a spot-on when this happens. His Shoukanjuu wears an outfit that makes it look like a punk, and is armed with brass knuckles.

Baka & Test : Summon The Beast

Kinoshita Hideyoshi (木下秀吉)

Class F student who speaks like an old samurai and happens to be a great drama club member, but has mediocre grades. On top of that, everyone in school mistakes him for a girl.

Hideyoshi happens to be a very good actor and drama student, but his skills in academics are very low, and therefore he ends up placed in Class F with Yuuji, Akihisa, and the others. Compare this to his twin sister, who has the opposite attitude: a no-nonsense girl who studies very hard and doesn't have much time for drama or extracurriculars, and as a result tested into Class A.

A running gag throughout the series is that everyone seems to think that Hideyoshi is a girl, from his fellow classmates who buy and sell lewd photos of him in girly costumes to the unnamed shopkeepers who keep selling him feminine outfits. During Ep. #6 of the anime, Hideyoshi even had his own separate bathroom and onsen outside of the girls- and boys-only rooms. The only person in the story who ever thought Hideyoshi was a boy was Akihisa's sister Akira, but that was only because she refused to believe that Akihisa would befriend any females except for her.

In a Japanese poll of favorite light novel characters, Hideyoshi was somehow able to win both first place among all male characters and tenth place among all female characters.

Baka & Test : Summon The Beast

Minami Shimada (島田美波)

Violent tomboyish tsundere who is also in love with Akihisa. Somewhat intelligent, but can't read kanji.

Minami Shimada is a Japanese girl who is normally intelligent, but after being raised with her parents in Germany for so long she has trouble reading Japanese kanji. As a result, when the subject does not involve math (which has standard Arabic numbers), she ends up getting low scores and as a result was placed in the same class with the other idiots of Class F.

In the anime, Minami appears to be playing a textbook tsundere role: On one hand, she's often hinting that she is in love with Akihisa. She made lunch for him, went on a date (sort of) with him, and even found that he had a lewd picture of her (a sign of reciprocated feelings, maybe). However, Akihisa only seems to care about Hideyoshi in that way, and nearly every time the two talk to each other Minami ends up putting Akihisa in a pro wrestling-inspired lock or hold. Despite this violent side of her, Minami continues to be one of Akihisa's love interests.

The Voyeur is not averse to distributing secret, lewd pictures of her around the school for money.

Baka & Test : Summon The Beast

Mizuki Himeji (姫路瑞希)

A sweet girl with scores rivaling the school's valedictorian, Mizuki is stuck in Class F because she skipped the placement exam due to being sick.

2nd Grade highschool student in Fumizuki Gakuen. She's in the same F-class along with Akihisa and friends, but actually she is ranked 2nd from the whole school in academics.

A gentle and well-behaved bishoujo. Though she is weak in health, body development is pretty okay, with an F-class bust size.
She came to the F-class because she exited the room midway during the class division examinations- resulting in a zero score. She was Akihisa's first love since long ago when they were in elementary school, but never noticed until recently when he pleaded for her during the class division examinations. But why she likes Akihisa is the greatest mystery of the 21st century. It seems it has something to do with the rabbit-shaped hair decoration she likes.

After the incident she tried several times to confess to Akihisa, but due to unfortunate circumstances she did not succeed. But when she is drunk or her emotions are stirred, her actions can cross the line.

She is very smart but because of her innocent character, she believes in others' words too easily. She also does not have any love experience; and although she knows Akihisa is trying his best for her, she thinks it's just because he is kind. And she did not yet notice Minami's heart to Akihisa.

She is neat and mature but easily become jealous. Influenced by Minami and the F-class, her punishment level of Akihisa's flirtatious(?) nature has grown recently. She cooks with images, not ingredients (ex: "Sour" -> "Vinegar" = "Acetic Acid") and therefore the taste of her food is the ultimate weapon that sends anyone who eats it to the underworld. However because she fears of the victim becoming her practice target and hides the truth, she does not her true capability. Her hobbies are sewing dolls and collecting photos of Akihisa in girls's outfits.

She is very weak against alcohol, and easily gets drunk. When she's drunk, she gets bold.

Because of her insensibility, she does not know of her appeal or her past records; thus not very confident in herself.

Her Shoukanjuu's tools are western-styled armor and a large sword. Bracelet's special ability is "Heat rays". Occult version is Succubus, influenced from the feature "Boldness (in many meanings)" and "bust size".

Baka & Test : Summon The Beast

Yoshii Akihisa

Possibly the biggest idiot in the world (or so his parents say), Akihisa is the only one whose summoned beast can be corporeal.
Yoshii is probably the dumbest student in Class F; he lacks both common sense and intellectual knowledge. He willingly acknowledges his idiocy. He's best friends with Class Representative Yuuji Sakamoto --who is equally as stupid. Yoshii often acts like a typical fanboy, frequently indulging in purchasing and drooling over photos of cute girls, though he does have a love of pictures of trap, Hideyoshi. Because of his habit, Yoshii is always on the verge of broke, leaving him starving. In spite of his stupidity, Yoshii has a heart of gold. When fellow classmate, Himeji becomes ill during the placement exam he rushes to her rescue. Similarly, he tries hard to win the school scavenger hunt so he can win a set of fox phone charms to give to Minami's little sister--whose charm was destroyed because he failed to pick it up when he saw it. He has a large crush on Himeji, and he's also the object of affection and abuse of Minami.

Yoshii has the ability to summon his magical being  anywhere, including outside of school, because of a special bracelet he won in the scavenger hunt. Furthermore his summon is the only one that can touch physical objects. As a result, he's often recruited (forced) to do chores for the teachers. On occasion his summon's ability saves the day, as in the case when the school's digital field was disrupted and acting up. One last note, whatever pain his summon feels, Yoshii does too.
